Patient with chemotherapy-induced heart failure first to receive stem cells in clinical trial

A breast cancer survivor’s cancer treatment also caused damage to her heart. Now, UF researchers have injected stem cells in her heart in a Phase 1 clinical trial aimed at evaluating whether those stem cells can help repair damaged heart tissue.
