Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among American women, except for skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, about one in eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, on Oct. 5 Panera Bread cafes in Gainesville and Ocala will donate 100 percent of every pink bagel toward breast cancer research funds in the UF Shands Cancer Center.

UF&Shands departments can compete for the most pre-sold bagels and win free lunch for 10 (hang onto your receipts!), and Panera Bread will also match donations deposited in counter canisters.

The event takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, click here.
