After 50 years and $1 million in funds raised, the University of Florida Medical Guild continues to grow with the needs of the Health Science Center and UF&Shands Health System.

The field of general surgery will face a shortage of professionals in the near future. The UF department of surgery addresses this need by committing itself to help double the number of UF College of Medicine graduates who enter general surgery residencies or surgical subspecialties.
