Dr. Richard C. Christensen’s wife, Kathy, and son, Chris, accepted the UF College of Medicine Hippocratic Award on his behalf during a ceremony held May 3, nearly six months after the beloved faculty member’s passing.
The plant sale will take place April 2 on the UF campus.
The plant sale will take place Nov. 13-14 on the University of Florida campus.
The class of 2015 presented Robert Hollander, M.D., with the Hippocratic Award at the annual ceremony May 5.
The program grew out of a collaboration with UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine.
Robert Hatch, M.D., a community health and family medicine professor and director of the Free Center, received his third Hippocratic Award in a ceremony May 6.
The City of Gainesville presented UF’s Wilmot Gardens with a 2012 Beautification Award on April 25.
On May 3, Maureen Novak, M.D., became the fourth pediatrician to receive the 2011 College of Medicine Hippocratic Award.
Every year first-year students hold a commemorative ceremony in appreciation of those who donated their bodies for the gross anatomy course.
